Cromwell Town Council approves $27.4 million general fund budget for fiscal year 2026-27. The council voted unanimously on all major line items at a special March 11 budget workshop, setting the total general fund at $27,424,513, a year-over-year increase of roughly $930,000, equivalent to an estimated 0.2 mills based on the town's current assessed property values. The council also approved a $23,783,450 general government budget reflecting $61,756 in reductions from the town manager's proposal, a $5,396,694 public works budget, and a $3,641,063 debt budget.
The council approved $2,500 for the Cromwell Cultural District Commission in the donations and dues line, which was set at $64,666. Amanda, a town staffer overseeing the OpenGov online permitting rollout, told the council the system is on track to go live by June 30, saying "I don't think that it would be longer than that," with an IT consultant now helping to speed form development.
